The Convergencias project was a public installation to commemorate the 10th edition of the conference panel with the same name, hosted annually at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The event is organized each year by the International Relations student society of the university, and important political figures from both Mexico and the United States are invited to discuss topics of interest regarding diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In response to the political climate surrounding the presidency of Donald Trump in 2017, the theme of the debate was "Building Together". The proposal consists of a structure made of pieces that join together by assembly, forming a whole. It directly responds to the wall that Trump proposed at the time, refuting the message of building to divide, and instead rethinking building as an action of collaboration and growth. It was exhibited in the City View Foyer of George Washington University.
